Fifth week summary(“artificial intelligence”)
We learned artificial intelligence(called A.I.).
Once, we inspect the men related it. One of them is Alan Turing. He has called founder of computer science, artificial intelligence and he was mathematician, philosopher, code-breaker, and a gay man. In fact, people had thought that computer can do anything instead of people so they had want machine to do anything in that time. Alan Turing did, too. Alan was born, in 1912 from Paddington, London. World War 2 broke out in 9139. German invented Enigma cipher machine in that time. That was very powerful cipher machine which converted words to numbers. However, British obtained it, finally. Therefore many British brain included Alan Turing were gathered to one park. They accomplished to decode Enigma’s code. Of course it was secret. Then Alan invented operating computer called Colossus. Eniac was invented but Alan had invented it before two years. Colossus can break code system of German. And then Turing made a Turing’s “imitation game”. It is played with three people, a man, a woman, and an interrogator who may be of either sex. The interrogator stays in a room apart from the other two. The object of the game for the interrogator is to determine which of the other two is the man and which is the woman. Interesting thing was that men pretend the women so interrogator confused. Turing applied it to computer and men. He changed a woman or a man to computer. After he insisted if interrogator can not determine human, the computer was thinking. We can think what is “think”? A decision? Or judgment? Or conclusion? Marvin Minsky, defined the A.i.. It is that Artificial intelligence is the science of making machines do things that would require intelligence as if done by humans. Artificial intelligence also need many research areas, which include programming languages and natural language and speech understanding and vision and robotics and machine learning and planning so on. Then researcher met a difficulty of research because A.I. can’t cope with only everything. There are many strange things in living but A.I. is one of programming algorithms because, researcher can’t count all case and input them. Therefore funding was stopped in 1980s. However funding was resumed, recently. However there are still many problem. One of them is only one answer. Human can talk the many answers gesturing.
Besides, most important thing is flowing. All people have a some kind of illusion likes schizophrenia of movie beautiful mind. However society ignores that and pressures that. Therefore all people do that, too. However people expose it, when they do creative something likes art. The other hand robot is not functional about it. James Meehan wrote Stories by Computer about it. A solution of it is Eliza made from Eliza Doolittle. It is initial conversation program. It answer to question instead of advice. It is also role as a psychotherapist.
My opinion
Artificial intelligence has been so exciting for me since I was so young. I remember when I was so young, I watched a movie named A.I. interestingly. I did also interest in philosophical problem of it. As a result, I had project named “Robot’s Identity of Movie”, in reading and writing class. I did cope with David of A.I. and Andrew of Bicentennial Man, interestingly. In fact I insisted that David is not human, He can not be human. Of course, he can think and love something. However his creator is different from the human’s. Then he has no a Soul or Spirit. I think existence of thought is not standard of human. They has human body, but also human thought at the movies. However we can’t never give same value with human to them.
However I like a robot’s industry and I think it will develop. Then it is actually developing better than Eliza. I listened learning robot named ‘Baby’ and 마징가’s airplane shed construction of Japan and pet robot to response. It makes me expect the robot industry.
Then one of my hope is Korea become pioneer of robot industry.
