러브제주 수련회 기간 중, 전국 총단 분들이 우리 방에 오셔서
같이 점심을 먹은 적이 있다.
이 때문에 성용이는 오시기 전에 갑자기 안하던 청소를 하고
깨끗히 씻기까지 했다. 게다가 자고있던 나를 깨우며 빨리 씻고 새 옷으로 갈아 입으라고 강요하기 까지 했다.

그 분들이 정말로 오시자... 나와 성용이는 얼어붙었다.
묻는 것에만 대답하는 정도(?)였다.

물어보고 싶은건 많았는데 입이 안떨어졌달까나..?
참 아쉬운 순간이었다.

집회가 다 끝나고..

이번엔 기회를 놓질 수 없었다.
함께 콰이어로 섬겼던 수영 순장님과 결국 감격의 사진을 한 컷 찍었다..! 크크크

사라봉에서 늦게 돌아오느라 조금은 늦었지만,
역시나 기도회를 갖었다.
빛내리 순복음 교회에서의 마지막 밤이기 때문에 더욱더 마음껏
축복하는 기도를 갖었다.

특히 기억에 남는건, 암 투병 중이신 성도님을 위한 기도...이다.
과거에 영적으로 엄청난 방황이 있었던 그 분은..
목사님의 동생분이다.
아직 예수님을 영접하진 않았다.
그러나... 투병중에 자그마한 믿음이라도 붙잡고 나아가는 듯 하다.

그리고 기도회 후 있었던 1차 미션의 총체적인 나눔시간..

중간에 아직 공사가 덜 끝난 진흙길 때문에 엄청 고생하긴 했지만
아름다운 야경도 보고 바람도 쐐고 참 좋았다.

그러나 기도회 시간에 늦었다는거.. ㅠㅠ

새벽 5시, 새벽예배
아침 11시 대예배
낮 1시 30분 오후 예배
특히나 오후예배 때는 CCC 주관으로 행해졌다.

찬양 후, 이효준 순장의 간증과
박효진 간사님의 CCC소개와 메시지가 있었다.

오후 3시에는 잠깐 낮잠을 자고,
오후 4시 30분 부터, 저녁 7시까지 전도를 나갔다.
인상깊은 시간이었다.

지나가던 길에 길에 거의 눕다시피 한 자세로 앉아 계속해서 풀을 손으로 뜯고 계신
할머니가 보였다.

처음에 멀리서 봤을 땐, 그냥 할머니께서 앉아계신 것인 줄 알고,
접근했는데, 그렇지 않아서 무섭기도 하고 해서 그냥 지나치려했다.

하지만 그럴 순 없을 것만 같았다.
그렇게 복음이 지나치기에는 너무 불쌍했다.

다가갔다. 할머니께서는 웃으며 맞아 주셨다.
알고보니, 그 할머니는 시카고에서 30년(?) 살고 오신 분이셨다.
그래서 한국어를 잘 이해하지 못할 수도 있다고 하셨다.

하지만 사영리를 읽어 드리기 시작했다.
100% 모두 이해하시는 것 같진 않았지만 계속해서 읽어드렸다.

중간에 이 것이 기독교적 내용임을 알아채셨다.
그리고 영접기도문을 읽을 무렵 자신은 부처를 믿기 때문에
필요 없다고 하셨다.

그리고 자신의 딸은 지금 미국에서 대학 교수로 있으며, 카톨릭 신자라고 얘기하셨다.
자신은 부처를 믿지만 딸이 카톨릭을 믿고 싶다고 해서
허락해주었다고 하셨다.

자신은 유태인이 싫지만, 딸이 좋다고 해서 유태인과의 결혼도 허락해 주었다고 하셨다.

그러나 지금은 홀몸이 되고 외로워서 제주에 왔다고 하셨다.

그 분이 말씀하시길 인생은 Sad라고 하셨다.....

그 때 제 2원리를 보여드리며, 많은 사람들이 지식과 종교로 하나님께 다가가려고 하기 때문에 그런 것이라고 말씀드렸다.
원래 예수님께서 오신 목적은 우리를 Sad하게.. 가 아니라 우리의 삶을 풍성히 해주시려는 것이 목적이라는 것도 덧붙였다.
그러나 그 분께서는 부처가 예수 그리스도 보다 더 일찍 태어났으며,
나중에 태어난 예수 그리스도가 부처를 밀어낸 것 뿐이라고 하셨다.
게다가 유태인들 마저도 예수 그리스도를 부정한다는 것에 힘을 실어 말씀하셨다.

난 마음이 답답했다. 가면 갈 수록 종교 분쟁만 될 뿐이었다.
하지만 그 분을 축복했다. 그리고 외로움에 위로가 되기 위해서라도 교회에 나오시라고 말씀드리며
전도지를 드렸다.
참 인상깊은 만남이었다.

인상깊은 만남이 하나 더 있다.
놀이터로 전도를 갔다. 나와 효준순장, 명희 순장님, 진아 순장님이 같이 갔다.
전도할 사람을 찾고 있는 와중에
조금 불량해 보이는 고등학생 6명이 놀이터에 왔다.
2명은 무리로부터 따로 떨어져 있고,
4명은 팔각정(?)에 뛰엄뛰엄 앉아 있었다.

우리 넷은 그것을 놓지지 않고 바로 한명씩 마크하여 붙었다.
사영리를 읽어주기 시작했다.
팔각정은 복음의 소리로 가득찼다.
유모차를 끌며 지나가던 아저씨도 무엇인지 궁금해하며 발걸음을 멈췄다.

내가 마크했던 친구는 중요한 지점이서 '피식'거리며 비웃었다.
그러나 그럴 수록 더 크게, 강하게 읽었다.(원래 웃어서는 안된다는 듯이)

결국은 영접기도까지 함께 드리는 놀라운 일을 경험하였다.
나름 진지한 태도로 사영리를 듣는 것 마저도 상당히 신기했다.

참 영적으로 좋은 경험이었다.

전도가 끝나고 저녁을 먹은 후 사라봉으로 향했다.

6/28 토요일 하루를 마치며...

괜히 힘든 마음으로 금요일 밤에 부암동으로 갔었습니다.
그 곳에서 갖었던 짧은 오리엔 테이션과 기도회도 제대로 참여하지 못하고 육적으로 피곤하여 졸기 바빴습니다. 버스에서도 어느 누구보다 잘 잤습니다. 6시간이 넘는 버스 여행 중에도 딱 한번 밖에 깨지 않았을 정도 입니다.
목포항에 도착했습니다. 비와 바람이 장난이 아니었습니다. 배에 직원 분은 파도 높이가 3m나 된다고 했습니다. 하지만 정말 큰 배니까 괜찮겠지... 했습니다. 처음엔 정말 괜찮았습니다. QT나눔을 할 때 까지만 해도요. 그러나 한 2시간을 갔을 때였나?
배가 휘청거리기 시작했습니다. 자던 저는 일어나 찬양을 했습니다. 기타도 쳤습니다. 도저히 힘들어 할 수 없었습니다. 그냥 누워서 기도를 했습니다.
"하나님, 안전하게 지켜주세요. 도와주세요. 어지러워요. 어지럽지 않게 해주세요."
하지만 배가 더 휘청거리는 것만 같았습니다. 속으로 내심, 1차 미션에 온 것을 후회하기도 했습니다. 하지만 기도할 수 밖에 없었습니다.
어느덧 잠이 들고, 일어나 보니 제주항이 었습니다. 제주도는 맑게 개어 있었습니다.
"우와, 살았구나..." 라는 말이 절로 나왔습니다.
괜찮은 표정을 하고 있는 다른 C맨들이 야속하기도 했습니다.
빛내리 순복음 교회 목사님을 만나 교회로 왔습니다.
맛있게 밥을 먹고 짧게 OT를 하고 기도를 하고 설문 & 전도를 하러 고고!!

기독교에 대한 적대감을 많은 사람에게서 느낄 수 있었습니다.

기독교인이 25명 중 2명이였습니다. 만나보니, 중고등학생들의 반응이 상당히 좋았고 가능성 있다고 생각되어 집니다. 돌아와서 저녁 먹고 기도회를 CCC주관으로 진행했습니다. 찬양으로 하나된 우리는 말씀을 맛있게 먹고 기도했습니다. 제주를 위해... 이제 깨끗히 샤워를 하고 자려합니다. 내일이 기대됩니다.
예배가, 말씀이, 전도가, 교회가...
기도하고 자렵니다.

하나님, 감사합니다.
오늘 함께해 주셔서 참 좋습니다.
힘들고 어려운 순간도 많았는데 주님의 이름으로 승리했습니다.
하나님! 더 기도하겠습니다.
이 열방을 위해, 그리고 제 자신을 위해... 제 마음을 지켜주시고
믿음을 지켜주시고, 시험에 들지 않게 하소서.
아직도 조금 어지러운데 건강을 책임져 주시고, 기쁜 하루를 제게 허락하소서.
제가 맡았던 모~든 교회 일들을 주님께 맡기며 사랑이 많으신 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도드렸습니다. -아멘

첫 날..

오후 4시 20분
2명씩 한조가 되어 설문지를 들고 출발했다.

설문지 하나 받기도 이렇게 힘들다니....
어떤 분은 설문 도중
학교 동아리에서 나온건 알겠는데
그럼 도대체 어떤 종교 단체냐고 계속해서 물어보시기에
기독교라고 말씀 드렸더니,
바로 정식을 하며 가버렸다. ㅠㅠ

불교가 이렇게 많을 줄이야..

밤 8시 30분, 피드백&회의를 하고
밤 9시, 기도회를 시작했다.

목사님께서는 '기도'를 강조하는 말씀을 전하셨다.
요즘들어 계속해서 듣게 되는 '기도'하라는 하나님의 말씀...

이유가 있었다..
이 곳 제주에 와서야 알 수 있었다.

시험에 들지 않기 위해 기도하라고 하셨다.
기도를 하지 않으면 시험에 든다는 것이다.
마음을 지키는 법은 기도밖에 없다고 하셨다...

그렇다... 바로 그거다..!

오후 1:52분 제주항에 도착했다.

오는 도중에 정말 그야말로 죽을 뻔했다.
호우로 인해 파도가 너무 심해서 저 큰 배가 엄청나게 흔들렸다.
흔들림은 계속 되었고, 때문에 계속해서 멀미가 났다.

누워서 눈감고 잠들길 바라며 계속해서 기도하면서 왔다..ㅠㅠ
우당탕탕 하며 무언가 넘어가는 소리도 계속해서 들렸었다..
1차미션 온 것을 내심 후회하는 마음도 있었다.. ㅠㅠ

어쨋든 도착한게 정말 다행이었고 감사했다..ㅠㅠ

같은 날, 어머니의 친구분께서 아들의 군 면회를 위해 목포항에서 배를 타려고 하셨다고 한다.
그런데 너무 심한 호우로 인해 배가 출발할 수 없다고 했다고 한다...

와... 정말..

이제.. 시작이다..!

서울역(4호선 지하철)에 도착해서 경복궁역에 가기 위해 효진 간사님을 기다렸다.
시위로 인해서 버스로 시청을 지날 수 없기 때문이다.

이 책에서 이야기하는 7가지 습관을 개인과 대인관계의 효과성에 대한 전체적이며 통합적인 접근방식이고, 개별적인 습관 이상의 것이며, 진정한 열쇠는 습관들간의 관계가 서로 연결되어 있는 방식에 있다는 확신을 말한다.

* 습관 1. 주도적이 되라.

·주도성에 대한 정의
주도성(proactivity)이란 단어를 요즈음 경영학 문헌에서 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있게 되었지만, 대부분의 사전에서는 찾아볼 수 없을 것이다. 이것은 단순히 솔선해서 사는 것 이상을 의미한다. 이 말의 의미는 스스쿨의 삶에 대해 책임을 져야 한다는 뜻이다. 우리의 행동은 우리가 하는 의사 결정에 의한 것이지, 결코 우리를 둘러싼 여건들에 의해 좌우되는 것이 아니다. 우리는 감정보다 가치를 우위에 놓을 수 있다. 또 우리는 어떤 일을 수행하는데 있어 주도력으로 하고 그 책임도 질 수 있다.
우리는 본질적으로 주도적이다. 그런데 우리의 삶이 주위의 여건이나 상황들에 따라 좌우된다면, 그 이유는 우리가 선택한 의식적인 결정이나 태만 때문에 그것들에게 우리를 지배할 수 있는 권한을 양도해 주었기 때문이다.

적극적이 된다는 것은 무모하게 밀어붙이고, 비난의 대상이 되며, 공격적이 된다는 의미는 아니다. 그 대신 이것은 우리가 어떤 일을 완수 할 책임을 인식하는 것을 뜻한다.
스티븐 코비는 지난 수년동안 더 나은 직업을 원하는 사람들에게 적극적이 되라고 상담해 왔다. 이는 흥미 검사 및 적성 검사를 해 보고, 관심있는 산업분야를 연구하며, 경우에 따라서 조직이 직면하는 문제까지도 조사하는 것이다. 그 다음에 면접에서 자신이 그 조직에 들어가면 조직의 문제를 해결할 방안이 있음을 설명해 주는 적극성을 말한다. 이러한 전략은 '해결책의 판매'라고 불리는 것으로 기업이 성공하는데 중요한 패러다임이다.

* 습관 2. 목표를 확립하고 행동하라.

습관 2는 다양한 상황과 삶의 여러 단계에 적용될 수 있다. 또 목표를 확립하고 행동하라'는 말의 가장 근본적인 적용은 오늘부터 시작하여 자신의 최후 순간에 갖고 싶은 이미지, 모습, 그리고 패러다임을 매사를 검토하는 기준들과 표준으로 삼는 것이다. 그러면 인생의 각 부분을 구성하는 오늘의 해동, 내일의 행동, 내주의 행동, 그리고 내달의 행동들을 우리가 가장 중요하게 생각하는 전체적 가치관에 따라 검토할 수 있을 것이다.
자신에 대한 자아의식을 발전시키다 보면 상당수는 자신이 얼마나 가치없는 습관, 즉 비효과적인 각본에 따라 살고 있는지, 또 삶에서 진정으로 가치를 두는 것과는 얼마나 무관하게 살고 있는지를 알게 된다. 습관, 그는 우리에게 그러한 각본에 따라 살 필요가 없다고 말하고 있다. 우리는 자신의 상상력과 창의력을 이용하여 가장 가치있게 생각하는 것과 좀더 일치하고 나아가 우리의 가치를 더욱 의미있게 해 주는 올바른 원칙에 좀 더 가깝게 해 줄 것이다.

* 습관3. 소중한 것부터 먼저하라.
가장 중요한 것이 가장 하찮은 것에 의해 좌우되서는 안된다. - 괴테-
효과적 관리란 소중한 것을 먼저 하는 것이다. 리더십은 소중한 것이 무엇인가를 결정하는 것인데 비해, 관리란 이것을 항상 맨 먼저 행하는 버릇을 갖는다. 버릇들이기란 말은 문하생 또는 추종자라는 말에서 나왔다. 다시 말하면 철학에 대한 추종, 원칙에 대한 추종, 일련의 가치를 따르는 것, 중요한 목적을 따르는 것, 나아가 위대한 목표 또는 이것을 상징하는 사람에 대한 추종 등이라고 이해할 수 있다.

* 습관 4. 상호이익을 추구하라.
우리는 황금률을 외우기로 약속했다. 이제는 이것을 생활에 적용해 보라. - 애드윈 마크햄 -
상호 이익을 얻기 위해서는 커다란 용기와 많은 배려가 필요하다. 특히 승/패적 사고에 깊이에 빠져 있는 사람들과 상호작용할 때는 더욱 그러하다. 이것이 바로 이 습관이 대인관계 리더십의 원칙에 포함되는 이유이다. 효과적인 대인관계 리더십은 원칙 중심에 입각한 개인 리더십에서 나오는 주도적인 자발성이 그리고 안정감, 지침, 지혜, 나이가 역량들을 필요로 한다.
승적으로 되기 위해서는 관대하면서도 용기가 있어야 한다. 공감적이면서도 자신감을 갖고 있어야 한다. 또한 사려 깊고 분별력이 있어야 할 뿐만 아니라 용감해야 한다. 따라서 이렇게 용기가 배려간에 균형을 이루는 것이 진정한 성숙성의 본질이 되고 승/승에 바탕이 된다.

* 습관 5. 경청한 다음에 이해시켜라.
사람들의 마음속에는 이유들이 존재한다. 그 이유들은 이성적으로 판단하기 어렵다. - 파스칼-
분별력을 가진 공감적 경청자는 상대방의 내면 깊숙히 일어나는 현상을 재빨리 알아차릴 수 있다. 나아가 다른 사람들의 실제 문제가 있는 내면 중심부에 도달할 때까지 한겹한겹 껍질을 벗겨내는 것을 안전하게 느끼도록 수용과 이해를 보여줄 수 있다.
사람들은 이해받기를 원한다. 그리고 이렇게 하기 위해 투자되는 시간은 그것이 얼마든지 우리가 문제점을 정확히 파악하고, 이해해 줌으로써 예입되는 감정은행 계좌를 가지게 하기 때문에 훨씬 큰 보답으로 나타날 것이다.

* 습관 6. 시너지를 활용하라.

시너지란 무엇인가? 간단히 정의한다면 시너지는 전체가 각 부분들의 합보다 더 크다는 것을 의미한다. 다시 말하면 각각 부분들 상호간에 갖는 관계는 전체의 일부분이고, 또 그 자체가 전체의 역할을 한다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 이것은 한 부분이기도 하지만, 동시에 최대의 촉매 작용을 하고, 최고의 역량이 있으며, 가장 큰 통합을 이룩하게 하는 가장 멋진 부분이다.
시너지(synergy)의 가장 고차원적인 형태는 인간만이 가진 4가지 천부의 재능, 승/승의 동기, 그리고 공감적 경청기술을 가지고 우리가 일상생활에서 직면하게 되는 가장 어려운 문제에 도전하는 것이다. 그런데 시너지가 가져오는 결과는 거의 기적적이라고 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 이를 통해, 이전에는 전혀 존재하지 않는 새로운 대안들을 창조할 수 있기 때문이다.

* 습관 7. 심신을 단련하라.

습관 7은 자기쇄신, 즉 재충전을 위해 톱날 가는 시간을 할애하는 것이다. 또 이것은 다른 습관들의 실행을 가능하게 해 주기 때문에 다른 6가지 습관들을 둘러 싸고 있다. 이 습관은 우리 인생에서 할 수 있는 가장 훌륭한 투자이다. 이것이야말로 우리가 할 수 있는 인생에 대한 투자이며, 삶을 살아가고 공헌 할 수 있는 도구에 대한 투자이다. 자기 자신은 스스로가 어떤일을 수행하는 도구이다. 따라서 우리는 4가지 차원에 대해 규칙적으로 톱날을 가는, 즉 심신을 단련하는 시간이 가지고 중요성을 인식해야만 비로소 효과적으로 될 수 있다.
끝으로 참된 변화는 내면으로부터 시작되어야 한다. 나뭇잎을 쳐내는 것과 같은 응급처치식의 성격 윤리적 기법을 가지고는 태도와 행동을 바꿀 수 없다. 이것은 뿌리, 즉 사고의 바탕이다. 기본인 패러다임을 바꿈으로써만 가능하다. 이 패러다임이 우리의 성품을 결정해주고, 우리가 세상을 보는 관점의 렌즈를 창조해 준다.

Eleventh week("open-source")
There are many resistances in digital media. What is "resistance"? It means to oppose the strategies of "The Prince". It is being all social field. Disturbance is very important word, which is related to resistance.
There are some example of "electric disturbance". They are named virus, trojan horse, worm, bomb, back door.
What is virus? The virus is a term in biological field, acturally. However it is a cracker program in this filed. It is often attached to some program. Then, when the program is excuted, virus is excuted, too. It is not worm. It cannot infect other computher without assistance.
What is trojan horse? It is a program designed to break security or demage a system that is disguised as something else benign, such as a directory lister, archiver, a game, or (in one notorious 1990 case on the Mac) a program to find and destroy viruses!
What is worm? It is a program that propagates itself over a network, reproducing itself as it goes. In fact, Morris invented it, at 1988 to know size of networks.
What is bomb? It is a code surreptitiously inserted in an application or OS that causes it to perform some destructive or security-compromising activity whenever specified conditions are met. For example, when one company send design files to another company at dealings, they install the bomb to these files. Then anonther company cannot use these files, continueslly without the dealings.
Finally, what is back door? This is a hole in the security of a system deliberately left in place by designers or maintainers.
There are many open-source programs, likes Linux, Apache.

My opinion
Open-source is so interesting, because users are develoopers or designers of the programs, also. When I was in high-school, I used a PMP. Some functions and visual designs of it are open-source. Thus I did download many funny skin for my PMP. In that time, I was so fun. Thus I think "Open-source" gives some funny, enjoying, happieness to users. As a result of users can use some products during long times, interestinglly.
Then, I could know many concepts of virus, troy horse, bomb, backdoor, worm in this class. Maybe, I will study them easyily, when I learn to subjects realated to networks.

Tenth week summary(“privacy and public”)
We have looked around surveillance. It is related to privacy. Lessig talked about inefficiency. In fact, real meaning of inefficiency is that technologies do work to another which is not purpose. Nowadays, we can hear about a slowfood. Then we can listen “less is better”. However technology and intelligence are developing to be more efficient. There are RO and RW. RO is read-only like just public market. The other hands, RW is read-writing. RW is operating by volunteer like a Youtube. In fact, life where less is monitored is a life more private. Then life where less can (legally perhaps) be searched is also a life more private. Cookies are also related to privacy. Cookies are information that a web server stores on the machine running a web browser. Originally, it was invented to be convenient, but we should to think about privacy. Then, we can use the encryption. Encryption is the process of transforming information (referred to as plaintext) using an algorithm (called cipher) to make it unreadable to anyone except those possessing special knowledge, usually referred to as a key. We can look around the data mining. Goal of data mining is selection later collecting the data. For instance, Amazon has the records of our choice and taste. They also predict our next choice based on them. Following is data mining tasks.

• inference of associative rules
• inference of sequential patterns
We can find a example of regression. We can see the chocolate and gum, besides counter of mart. It is lower than normal shelve. It target the children. Then car company advertise their car to customer earning proper income. It is classification.
My opinion
We can watch the news about violation of privacy, easily. Thus I think that this topic(private and public) is very important topic. Then intelligence or technology is developing to be more efficient. However, I think afford, rest is also important. More efficient is better in all fields? I don’t think so. Then data mining of marketing is so interesting. I want to know more example.

Ninth week summary(“human”)
The wheel is an extension of the foot. Then all media are extension of some human faculty. (Meaning of the extension is just improving) We can know events of other countries in the morning by newspaper. It is extension. Also, we can see the media as prostheses. We can see a disabled using the medium like a artificial leg. It is also displacement, not a replacement. In fact, people were negative about them. However, it is changing. They are thinking that it is another art. Thus they envy them. Then, these disabled has a another sense because tools are attached to their body. Thus they started to be comfortable but now if it is nothing, they cannot live.
We can think about identity. Race, class, gender, sexuality, and a set of other social, political, cultural and economic differences separate us. Ok, so who is a woman? Who is a man? Can we define that? Who is black? Who is white? Who is rich? Who is poor? It is too hard that define the these problems. Then these situations are natural? It makes us to be not comfortable. As a result, we do mix the something. We can see the chimera. {A fabled fire-breathing monster of Greek mythology, with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail (or according to others with the heads of a lion, a goat, and a serpent), killed by Bellerophon.} Nowadays, we can see the cyborg. A cyborg is a cybernetic organism, a hybrid machine and organism, a creature of social reality as well as a creature of fiction. From one perspective, a cyborg world is about the final imposition of a grid of control on the planet, about the final abstraction embodied in a Star Wars apocalypse waged in the name of defense, about the final appropriation of women’s bodies in a masculinist orgy of war. From another perspective, a cyborg world might be about lived social and bodily realities in which people are not afraid of their joint kinship with animals and machines, not afraid of permanently partial identities and contradictory standpoints. Following is the standard of cyborg.
• do you wear a prosthesis? e.g., do you wear contact lenses or eyeglasses?
• do you take any medications?
• have you ever had an immunization?
• do you depend upon any form of technology for transportation?
• how would your life be affected if the power grid was shut off permanently?
• do you ever eat food or drink water that has been processed?
• in short, how intimately tied are you to technology?
My opinion
I had a impression from separation. I thought and looked around. It is true. This world try to separate us but it can be the bias. Course of German students are determined by teachers. I don’t agree that. Then I did know that I am a cyborg because I am wearing a glasses. I can think about ‘hybrid’. I think that all the people will get the new own sense by cyborg in the future.

Eighth week summary(“computer games”)

We sometimes hear about game engine. There are graphic, physics, ai, etc… in the game engine. We looked around game “mods”. Mod is short-term of modification. It is in rpg, fps, real-time strategy games. Mod can be entirely new games in themselves, so users can experience new fun. Therefore user want to modify the game, although they get a hacking. In fact, directors open the part in development that can be used for mod. There are games which are from movies. For example, Tum raider is that case. Physics is so important thing in the game. For example, we can play a pong. We can see a ball bounded by walls. It is from the physics. Ai is so important, too. If user’s opponent(computer) were too strong, so we can win the that. In the result, we never play the game. Therefore Ai’s level needs a consideration. Then what is good game? In fact, answer is nothing. There are many answers of the question. We can answer that popular game is good game. There are two perspective of game story. One of them is Narratology. People following that talk game’s story was from literatures. However, People following Ludology do not talk that. There are two issues to consider from film theory. One is a identification. We can think he is me or she is me, when we control a character of the game. Two is a space. Space invented by programmer makes us. Then technology embody something in that case.

These day, game spaces were separated by gender. In fact, when we play initial game(likes invader), Games embody the something.

Most important thing is that how does the game influence the users.

Opinion

I love the games. I think game’s markets are so big. Society thinks game is bad thing because of accident in news. However I think game is not bad thing. I think accidents from game are unavoidable in Korea, because Korea is pioneer in game industry. Therefore Korea experience crime or violence or another accident before other country experience these. Then I think game’s market will be bigger than now, because gamers are growing up to adult who has much money. Anyway, I support game industry.

Seventh week summary(“computer-aid”)
We did inspect ethnomethodology, one more time. Ethnomethodologists assume that social order is illusory. Thus ethnomethodologists assume that order in the social world is an accomplishment, not a given. Then we recalled Johnstone’s story generation game. Thus We can know computer easily, but cannot know human well. After these review, we inspected CSCW firstly. CSCW is computer-supported cooperative work. Computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) is a field of research and design. For example, there are CAD/CAM and ABB Powerwall and Drug Design. What is CAD? CAD is used to design of construction. Thus it give many information(water capacity, electronic power, changing air...) to us through calculation, when we do design something using CAD. However it cannot draw something automatically. In addition, Drug Design give a convenient to us, when we do invent the drug. We can attach protein to anywhere that we want. Winograd and Flores present a methodology for CSCW analysis and design. They did think about design as conversation construction. It was destiny of result of conversation. Finally, they thought saying is doing. Then we recalled keypoint2(Technologies embody social, political, cultural, economic and philosophical ideas and relationships.). Then we inspect other keypoint(Every digital media technology has an architecture that can be used to transform work, play and governance.). For example, the Social Logic of Space (1990) by Bill Hillier and Julienne Hanson. They did represent normal structure of room to the tree. We can see the “social logic” of the city plan. Most important thing is that there is these structure in a cyber space. We can know keypoint 5(People make media and then media make people.). In other hand, our leg are trained by hill of IT college. We must consider of Surveillance. Panopticon is one of history of surveillance. Panopticon developed by Jeremy Bentham in the 18th century for prison. He develop it for supervisor’s efficiency. Supervisor can look prisoners in only one spot. Important thing is that these structure is watched in hospital or factory. Why? These structure improves the efficiency of workers. We can watch it in Claude-Nicolas Ledoux’s salt plant at arc-et-senans. Workers should to work hard, because supervisor looks him, easily. We can look surveillance as a dream of the 18th enlightenment. People did claim that society should to be visible and legible each part in that time. However they that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Surveillance is invented by build structure and there is a logic. We can inspect cyberspace. Cyberspace provides a second life to us. It is very popular to people. We can do anything likes real space.
My opinion
This class is hard to me. I think computer-aid is little different from HCI. I can know CSCW and role of it. Then I can consider of surveillance. Then I can know origin of it, which is construction structure for efficiency. I am interested in action in the cyberspace. In addition to we will learn game in a next class. I will be game designer, so I expect it.

Sixth week summary(“human-computer interaction”)
This class was related to Human-computer interaction called HCI. HCI is just part of computer science. However we didn’t look around HCI in it’s perspective, we did HCI in art, ethic perspective. Key point of it is that people often interact with media technologies as though the technologies were people. Then ironical thing was that HCI related to ethics. Moreover aesthetics and design do too. We looked around a history of HICI as tools. Surprisingly, we already studied them : Bush’s memex, Ivan Sutherland’s sketchpad, Engelbart’s mouse and GUI and word processing, Nelson’s hypertext, so on. World wide web using now is it, too. Interest thing is that initial generation of HCI concentrated only tools(mouse, key board…) as method based on industrial design. However we use and invent the method over it having a purpose. Then, what is the purpose of tools of the HCI? Answer is that the devices announce human’s direction or indication to the computers.
In except, many field including the Military, Universities, Government, Companies were interested in the HCI. Thus they fund it.
Finally, HCI met the AI. However there was a question : Should the computer act like a person?. There were two opinions. First, the agent similar to system of Amazon.com . It can do some things human does not command. The other hand, the direct manipulation can do only some things human does command. Then we should to consider to give some meaning or define(co-construction of meaning). We watched some movies of the HCI, after.
We recalled the ELIZA. ELIZA answers our questions but they are not correct. However it is not fail. It is so human.
Then, we can do Johnstone’s algorithms. First, point a person, and make him to say something. He will say “I can’t say something.”(shying). Then we should to say to him that “Ok, then can you guess the answer in my mind. Give me questions”(in fact, we have no idea). Then He will start to question and get out of pressure of talking. When we answer the his question, we will have some rule :
• If the last two answers were “No,” then answer “Yes.”
• Else, if more than 20 total answers, then answer “Yes.”
• Else, if the question ends in vowel, then answer “No.”
• Else, if question ends in “Y,” then answer “Maybe.”
• Else, answer “Yes.”
As a result, he will happy to know right answer and shout to it. What we draw on it? Ethnomethodology simply means the study of the ways in which people make sense of their social world. Ethnomethodologists assume that social order is illusory. That is order of world is defined by my taste. It is far from mind of 1600s.
HCI is from Films. Technology inspires films and film inspires new technology. The new technology develops the HCI, so we can anticipate developing of the HCI in the films. That is, Films are anticipating or inspiring HCI.
My opinion
When humans meet other, they have various methods. It makes meeting to fun. People meet computer by keyboard or mouse during long time. Thus people are interested in new method announcing own indication to the computer. Besides it makes interaction to fun and be effective. Surely it is not only industrial design, but another. This situation already appears in front of our eyes. We can see a Nintendo’s NDSL and Wii. They has the new funny method. I expect fun methods realized of ideas.
